“An amazing experience”
My girlfriend and I stayed at Cabanas Valle Campanas for two nights and didn't want to leave. Reina and her family were incredibly welcoming and the property was stunningly quiet, peaceful and verdant. The individual cabins provide a lovely private place to relax, and are set apart from one another, surrounded by trees and grass. Ours had a balcony overlooking a beautiful valley and forest, with a hammock that we set up in the evenings. Reina helped us choose activities during the day, restaurants at night, and gave us a guided tour of the property and gardens, during which we were treated to a refreshing glass of freshly made sugar cane juice. We also helped feed and milk the family's cows, and saw the endangered Agouti Pacas they keep as pets. These are experiences you simply don't get in the average hotel, not to mention Reina's deservedly famous breakfasts, which no one should ever pass up. These were the best meals we had our entire time in Costa Rica! We would definitely love to return.

My family stayed at this small hotel in Monteverde for three days last week. I can't say enough about it. The host family - led by Reina, who oversees the hotel - were fantastic people who made sure our every need was met. Whether it was laundry, cooking exemplary breakfasts, or making last-minute, rush reservations for a family activity, Reina always came through. She was also good enough to give us a short tour of her family's working farm, which was a real treat and gave us a chance to drink some freshly minted Sugar Cane juice. The cabin we stayed in was two stories with plenty of space, and all four of us look at our stay here as one of the true highlights of our fantastic trip to Costa Rica.
An extra note about Reina's breakfasts: they were the best we had in Costa Rica, period. Great fruit juices, coffee picked and roasted on site, fresh EVERYTHING made lovingly and deliciously by Reina and her great staff. I highly recommend Canbas Valle Campanas.

We wish never had to leave!
Our cabin was quiet all day and
we woke with the sounds of the
birds on our porch. A perfect
place to enjoy Monteverde/Santa
Elena, while still feeling like
you are away on the country.
Only a 15 minute walk to town
and a great way to stretch legs.
We will make this a stop on all
our trips to Costa Rica! Thank
you so much for being the
perfect hosts. Adios

balcony! We hope to rerun one day…
